The final report of the investigation into the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) plane in Kazakhstan at the end of December 2024 will be approved no later than three years, the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan told TASS, APA's Russian bureau reports.
“The investigation into the aviation accident that occurred on December 25, 2024 with the Embraer E190AR aircraft of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC with the state registration number 4K-AZ65 is being carried out in accordance with the relevant order of the Minister of Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan. "In accordance with paragraph 32 of the order, the period of investigation of an aviation accident resulting in human casualties shall not exceed 36 months from the date of establishment of the commission to the date of approval of the final report on the results of the investigation of the accident, unless additional investigation is required," the ministry said.
Talgat Lastaev, a member of the investigation commission, Deputy Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan, said in an interview with Kazinform on December 30, 2024 that the preliminary or interim results of the investigation will be ready within 30 days.
