Another important provision of the Joint Declaration on the results of the meeting between the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Washington is the recognition that the conflict between the two countries is now a thing of the past, and that the realities that have emerged after the resolution of the conflict create conditions for the establishment of neighborly relations between the two states.
Thus, the thesis that the former conflict is now a thing of the past with the restoration of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Azerbaijan since 2020 is unequivocally established in the document. Another important point here is the clear confirmation that the realities arising from the resolution of the conflict are not subject to revision and never will be, and in this context, revanchist attempts are firmly rejected.
