U.S. companies will highly appreciate the opportunity to participate in projects and submit bids related to the “Trump Route,” Kenneth Angel, Executive Director of the U.S. Economic Development Corporation, told journalists at a briefing dedicated to the results of the U.S. business delegation’s visit to Azerbaijan, APA reports.

He noted that there are a number of geopolitical factors associated with the “Trump Route”: “On one side, Russia, and on the other, Iran do not want this corridor to be opened. Türkiye, on the contrary, supports the opening of the corridor. Armenia is also interested in this process, as it would be advantageous for them to collect fees from the cargo passing through the route. I believe this matter will require certain security guarantees and a diplomatic approach. However, this is a different issue from economic progress.”

Kenneth Angel added that the “Trump Route” is currently at an initial stage: “However, once the road is commissioned and becomes operational, U.S. companies will welcome the opportunity to participate in tenders and join the projects. Which company will submit the most advantageous proposal will be determined at that time.”

Jeff Erlich, Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan, also commented on the issue, noting that U.S. companies are among the world’s leading business structures: “There is a great demand for American technology, financial resources, experience, and products. I hope that certain opportunities will also emerge in this direction.”
