Although Islamophobia is presented under various names, it has become a serious global issue, Ravan Hasanov, Executive Director of the Baku International Multiculturalism Center, said during the press conference of the event titled “Islamophobia: Exposing Bias and Breaking Down Stigmas,” APA reports.
Ravan Hasanov emphasized that despite being presented under different labels, Islamophobia has evolved into a global problem with worldwide implications: "One of the reasons Azerbaijan plays an important role in this movement is that, like other Islamic countries, it faces discrimination due to its Islamic heritage. This has also contributed to enhancing our role in international politics. What makes this conference different from others is that it has now become a sustainable, scientific platform. Our message is that even in countries claiming to uphold liberal values, such incidents occur, and we are actively fighting against them and raising awareness on this issue."
