European Commissioner for Enlargement thanked President Ilham Aliyev, APA reports.

European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos said during the panel discussion titled “Open corridor policy? Deepening Trans-Caspian cooperation” held as part of the Munich Security Conference that in the past, the Black Sea or the Caspian Sea had often been viewed not as something that connects us, but rather as something that separates us.

“Peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan has opened a door that was previously impossible. President Ilham Aliyev, I thank you for your leadership in this peace project, which is strongly supported by the European Union. We are building a new structure. This does not mean that we will forget all other routes between Europe and China, but we must focus on diversification. Research shows that the Trans-Caspian transport corridor could triple traffic volumes by 2030, cut transit time in half, and save tens of millions annually. And this is one of the biggest attractions for business,” she stressed.
