"European Union is committed to the achievement of sustainable and continuous peace in the South Caucasus", said Toivo Klaar, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia during his speech at “Peace, Development, and Connectivity in the South Caucasus” panel hosted within the framework of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2024, APA reports.

"Achieving peace is in the interest of both, Azerbaijan, Armenia, the region as a whole, and us and we will make every effort to achieve this," Klaar said.

EU Special Representative noted that the main responsibility for achieving progress in the direction of achieving peace lies with these countries and their leaders, and it depends on their desire and will.

"Since I have been dealing with this issue for years, I can say that it is possible to achieve it. I hope that we will achieve this, Azerbaijan and Armenia will be able to sign the peace treaty," Klaar emphasized.
