"The long occupation of Karabakh caused instability in the South Caucasus region. Today, Azerbaijan is a powerful state that has restored its territorial integrity", said Türkiye's Presidential Chief Advisor, Cagri Erhan during the “Geopolitical Changes and Their Impact on Regional Sovereignty” panel at the 7th ADA Political Forum held at Karabakh University, APA reports.
"Karabakh is a center of culture, industry, and tourism for Azerbaijan. Currently, there are various political and economic power centers around the world. The long occupation of Karabakh caused instability in the South Caucasus region. Today, Azerbaijan is a strong state that has restored its territorial integrity. Türkiye has always supported Azerbaijan’s position in this regard. Türkiye supports strengthening peace and stability in the region. Indeed, the liberation of Karabakh will not only contribute to Azerbaijan but also to the overall development of the South Caucasus. One of the important regional cooperation platforms currently is the '3+3' format, which is well known to all of you,” Erhan emphasized.
He also noted that the promotion of not only road and other transport corridors but also energy corridors will play a crucial role in regional cooperation.
The Turkish politician highlighted that Azerbaijan supplies global markets with oil and oil products.
“Azerbaijan is a country that conducts its policies within its interests in the South Caucasus region, and Türkiye supports Azerbaijan’s political moves in this direction,” Cagri Erhan added.
