Discussion on co-op between parliaments of Azerbaijan and China held

Today, Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament) Sahiba Gafarova met with a delegation led by Su Hui, Vice Chairperson of Su Hui, vice-chairwoman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan, Milli Majlis Press and Public Relations Department told APA.

During the meeting, Speaker Sahiba Gafarova spoke about the elevation of relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the People's Republic of China to the level of strategic partnership.

Emphasizing the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation between Azerbaijan and China, Speaker Gafarova noted that the Milli Majlis attaches particular importance to strengthening cooperation with their Chinese counterparts. In this area, the working groups on mutual relations operating in the parliaments of both countries play an important role.

Su Hui stated that this was her first visit to Azerbaijan and shared her impressions. The guest exchanged views on the development of relations between the two countries and their parliaments, joint efforts in the implementation of the "Belt and Road" initiative, directions of China's economic development, and prospects for bilateral relations.

During the conversation, the guest provided information about the activities, structure, party representation, and political system of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). She expressed gratitude for Azerbaijan's support of the "One China" policy and shared her thoughts on the prospects for mutual cooperation.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on other topics of mutual interest.
