Members of the diplomatic corps visited Aghdam, APA’s Karabakh bureau reports.
The delegation was briefed on the construction and restoration works being carried out in Aghdam.
Emin Huseynov, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavend districts, provided detailed information on the reconstruction efforts in Aghdam city.
The delegation then visited the Aghdam Mugham Center. It was noted that the center will play an important role in restoring the pre-occupation glory of the ancient art of mugham in the Karabakh region, promoting and teaching it, and instilling a love for mugham in the younger generation.
Later, diplomatic representatives and military attachés visited the Imarat Complex in Aghdam.
It was noted that one of the historical and architectural monuments in the district subjected to Armenian vandalism was the palace of Panah Ali Khan, the founder of the Karabakh Khanate. Like other historical, cultural, and religious monuments, the palace was desecrated and vandalized during the occupation.
After liberation, restoration and archaeological research were carried out at the Imarat Complex, which is considered not only a major cultural site in Karabakh but also one of Azerbaijan’s important tourism and heritage centers.
The delegation also toured the Aghdam Industrial Park, where they were informed about the favorable investment environment established to support entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurs are provided with ready infrastructure financed by the state.
The visit of the diplomatic corps to Eastern Zangazur and Karabakh, which began on June 20 via Lachin International Airport, concluded at the Aghdam railway station.
They were informed that President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening ceremony of the Aghdam Railway and Bus Terminal Complex on May 10. The railway station is designed to accommodate 800 to 1,000 passengers per day.
Diplomats then boarded a high-speed train to Baku from the newly inaugurated complex.
