I believe the Zangezur Corridor will bear the name of President Ilham Aliyev, said Ali Ahmadov, First Deputy Speaker of the Milli Majlis, at the extraordinary meeting on the topic "Washington Agreements: A Triumph of Peaceful Diplomacy and Wise Leadership" held within the framework of the extraordinary session of the Milli Majlis, APA reports.

Ali Ahmadov said that a new history of Azerbaijan has been created: "We are all witnesses to the new bright pages that have been created. Azerbaijan and President Ilham Aliyev are not content with just creating a new history of Azerbaijan, but have also taken on the mission of creating a new history of the region. 3 factors show the power of each state. These include the country's economy, army, and diplomacy. Achievements in the field of diplomacy refer more to the personality and leadership factor. The author of the great diplomatic victory of Azerbaijan achieved in Washington is President Ilham Aliyev. At the same time, this is the development of a new qualitative stage in Azerbaijan's relations with the United States, which will lead to the further expansion of Azerbaijan's international economic integration. An international guarantee for the implementation of the Zangezur corridor was obtained at this meeting. The pinnacle of Azerbaijan’s diplomacy is the Washington meetings and the achievements secured there. President Ilham Aliyev is the sole architect of this major diplomatic victory in Washington. The Zangezur Corridor will become a key project in the country’s modern history. Just as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline bears the name of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, I believe that the Zangezur Corridor—destined to serve Azerbaijan, its people, and the state for many years—will bear the name of President Ilham Aliyev."
