"Azerbaijan's admission as the 9th member country of our organization is of great importance in terms of achieving the goals set out in the charter, opening up vast opportunities for the organization, and strengthening cooperation among the states represented here", APA reports, citing D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation.
It was noted that on March 19, Azerbaijan officially submitted the D-8 organization's charter to the Secretariat located in Istanbul, Türkiye.
The statement also recalled that Azerbaijan was represented at the XI Summit held in Cairo, Egypt, on December 19, 2024, and became a full-fledged member of the organization by unanimous decision of the participating countries.
It was stated that after the aforementioned decision, Azerbaijan began the process of ratifying the D-8 organization's charter, and in this regard, the law adopted by the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan on March 7, 2025, was signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
