SOCAR plays a very important role in Croatia's crude oil supply, said Speaker of the Croatian Parliament, Gordan Jandrokovic, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, at a joint press conference with the Speaker of the Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, APA reports.
According to him, Croatia and Azerbaijan have reason to be satisfied with the steadily growing overall trade exchange: "Today, we recalled the three meetings of the Joint Commission for the Implementation and Promotion of Economic Cooperation between our governments that have been held so far. The next meeting is planned to be held in Zagreb next year. We are pleased that decisive steps have been taken over the past two years to further diversify trade exchange between Croatia and Azerbaijan and increase mutual investments. Examples of these include the business and investment forums held in Baku and Zagreb. I would like to emphasize that Croatia and Azerbaijan, as two partners and friends, should constantly seek new ways to deepen cooperation at all levels. I have invited the Speaker of the Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, to visit Croatia," Gordan Jandroković noted.
The Speaker of the Croatian Parliament added that today he will discuss the prospects for the development of bilateral relations with Prime Minister Ali Asadov.
He also touched upon the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process. Jandroković added that Croatia firmly supports the progress made towards normalizing relations between Baku and Yerevan.
