"COP29 has gained significant importance," Tanzila Narbaeva, Chairwoman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, said during the Parliamentary Meeting organized jointly by the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan within the framework of COP29, APA reports.
Tanzila Narbaeva stated that reducing methane emissions and using clean hydrocarbons is crucial: “Parliaments must fulfill the commitments they have taken on. Issues such as migration and food security are very important. Financing is the most important issue in addressing climate change. Strengthening resilience in the region is also very important. At a time when environmental problems are worsening globally, the role of parliament must continue to grow.”
