As you know, there were 67 people on board the plane, including the crew members. Of them, 38 people lost their lives, said Aykhan Suleymanli, Consul General of Azerbaijan in Aktau, APA's correspondent assigned to Kazakhstan reports.
"Of the deceased, 26 are Azerbaijani citizens. According to the latest information, 16 Azerbaijani citizens survived. Of the 16, 10-12 are in good condition, while the others remain in serious but stable condition. We are working to send the injured to Azerbaijan," the ambassador noted.
On December 25, the "Embraer 190" aircraft, flight J2-8243 of Azerbaijan Airlines, en route from Baku to Grozny, was diverted towards Aktau city for an emergency landing and crashed near the city. There were 67 people on board, including 5 crew members and 62 passengers. As a result of the crash, 38 people lost their lives, and 29 survived.
The causes of the accident are being investigated.
