“Close relations between the leaders of Azerbaijan and Türkiye prevent risks in the region,” said Member of the Security and Foreign Policy Committee under the President of Türkiye, Professor Mehmet Akif Kireçci, in an interview with APA’s Türkiye bureau.
According to him, the US–Iran–Israel war has the potential to impact both Türkiye and Azerbaijan, and Türkiye’s main priority at present is achieving peace.
Mehmet Akif Kireçci noted that direct communication between the presidents of the two countries during sudden developments helps prevent crises:
“The friendship and brotherhood between the two countries create an important balance in the region. This must be especially emphasized. The existence of direct and close relations between the two leaders, beyond formal procedures, prevents many risks. During sudden developments, rapid communication and a mechanism of mutual trust bring the countries even closer to each other despite crises,” he said.
