As CICA, we are considering establishing relations with the Organization of Turkic States, said CICA Secretary General Kairat Sarybay during his speech at the session titled “CICA as an International Organization — Transformation and Strengthening of Institutional Potential” at the 13th meeting of the CICA Think Tank Forum, APA reports.
“We have relations with several international organizations. We are also considering building ties with other organizations, including the Organization of Turkic States,” the CICA Secretary General said.
Speaking on security issues, Kairat Sarybay also explained how CICA differs from the OSCE: “The OSCE was established as a result of compromises among powerful states. Meanwhile, the Almaty Act, the founding document of CICA, envisions bringing together medium-sized countries to fill security gaps in the international arena.”
He emphasized that the organization is not a bloc but rather a platform, an umbrella institution, and described CICA as the only pan-Asian organization.
