Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), which began in 2024, has been dynamic and productive, said CICA Secretary General Kairat Sarybay in an interview with APA.
According to him, Azerbaijan has also been the initiator of several interesting and useful events within the organization: “For example, I can cite the Business Council and Business Forum held in Baku. The event organized for bodies responsible for the development of cooperation in small and medium-sized enterprises was significant. This is because the SME sector plays an important role in the socio-economic development of both Azerbaijan and Central Asia.”
The Secretary General described the message of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the forum participants as the highest appreciation given to the organization: “For the first time, a head of state has addressed greetings to the participants of our event. At the upcoming summit under Azerbaijan’s chairmanship, the adoption of the charter is planned. Thus, we will reach a higher level in terms of institutional structure. All of this, including the expansion of intra-organizational, cross-sectoral, and international relations, has become possible precisely under Azerbaijan’s chairmanship.”
