Azerbaijan and China emphasized that terrorism, separatism, and extremism pose serious threats to national security and regional stability and that it is important to prevent this scourge and jointly combat it, this was stated in the “Joint Statement on the Establishment of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the People’s Republic of China” signed in Beijing on April 23 during the state visit of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to China, APA reports.
It was noted that it is necessary to strengthen ties and exchanges between the law enforcement agencies and security services of the two countries to jointly combat drug-related crimes, transnational organized crime, as well as challenges such as cybersecurity.
The Parties are ready to jointly ensure the safety of personnel of cooperation projects and enterprises of the two countries.
The Parties emphasize the importance of strengthening international cooperation in the field of humanitarian demining. In this regard, the Azerbaijani side highly values the Chinese side's support for Azerbaijan's demining efforts, while the Chinese side is ready to continue assisting Azerbaijan in enhancing its demining capacity through material and technical support.
