“Coordination and cooperation are possible between Azerbaijan and the EU in areas where there are shared interests," said former President of the European Council Charles Michel, APA reports.
Touching upon cooperation between the EU and Azerbaijan, Michel emphasized that productive steps have been taken in this direction.
“First of all, it is very positive that António Costa visited Azerbaijan yesterday and met with the president. I am confident that these meetings and discussions will help define priorities both in Azerbaijan and in Europe and determine which projects we can implement together and what our common interests are,” he said.
Michel also referred to the new framework document being prepared between Azerbaijan and the EU.
“In the current situation, it is important to accept that we may have some differences on certain issues. However, having differences does not mean that coordination and cooperation are impossible on matters where we share common interests,” he noted.
