A total of 1,329 Azerbaijani students studied in the United States during the previous academic year. This represents an 18 percent increase compared to the previous year, said US Chargé d’Affaires in Azerbaijan Amy Carlon during a fair on studying in the United States organized by the US Embassy and EducationUSA, APA reports.
According to her, the number of Azerbaijani students choosing to study in the US has been increasing for the fourth consecutive year.
“The United States remains one of the preferred destinations for Azerbaijani students pursuing higher education, and we have witnessed remarkable growth in recent years. Significant growth has been observed for the fourth consecutive year, which reflects growing confidence in the quality of American education. Azerbaijani students studying in the United States not only receive a high-quality education. They also serve as bridges between cultures, build long-term connections, and return to Azerbaijan with new and innovative perspectives that can contribute to the country’s development,” Amy Carlon said.
US Embassy Cultural Affairs Counselor in Azerbaijan Randy Cole said that Azerbaijani students returning from the United States gain analytical thinking skills, strong professional competencies, and the opportunity to become part of an alumni network of more than 8,000 Azerbaijanis who have studied in the US: “This shows that Azerbaijani students and their families clearly understand the value of American education and leading higher education institutions. The US higher education system is extremely broad,” he said.
