"Azerbaijan became a hope for the whole world and all the peoples displaced from their homelands with its victory in Garabagh in 2020. It is no coincidence that the Garabagh victory opened a new page in the history books as a military victory," said Chairman of the Human Rights Committee of the Council of Representatives of the Republic of Iraq Arshad Rashad Al-Salihi at the International Parliamentary Conference on "Parliamentarism: Traditions and Perspectives", APA reports.
He said that Azerbaijan recently restored the first school for the Turkmen people in Kirkuk: "I thank Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev. The Turkmen people always lean on Türkiye and Azerbaijan. I believe that Iraq should be represented as an observer in the Organization of Turkic States. Fuzuli, our common heritage, is one of the most beautiful chronicles of these values. His pen has illuminated not only the Turkmen people, but the entire Islamic world. We, as Iraqis, will also work to restore Fuzuli's tomb in Karbala."
Arshad Rashad Al-Salihi also called on the states in the Organization of Turkic States (OTS): "I call on the states from the OTS that do not have embassies in Iraq, to open your embassy in Baghdad like Azerbaijan."
