"We have had a very productive discussion today as part of the Strategic Dialogue, and I'm pleased to say that we're also proposing upgrading that dialogue to a partnership, therefore deepening our relationship in many ways," said Stephen Doughty, Minister of State for Europe, North America and Overseas Territories of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, in an interview with APA.
"We discussed the progress that we've already made in different areas of that relationship, but we all agreed that we can do even more together. As I said, whether that's in education, energy, infrastructure, political, diplomatic and, indeed, defence and security ties. It's very important, when we see what is happening in the wider region, the challenges to the north and to the south, and of course, the importance of Europe's security and stability that the UK and Azerbaijan work together as trusted friends and partners," he noted.
