“Azerbaijan has achieved phenomenal results in mine clearance," Enis Horozovic, Head of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Mine Action Centre, told journalists, APA reports.
“I would like to note that Azerbaijan is a friendly country of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bosnia and Herzegovina experienced war from 1992 to 1995. Unfortunately, after the war, our country was left extremely heavily contaminated with mines. I want to tell you that I am extremely pleased with the event you are holding today and the efforts you are making. We have also cleared approximately 80% of the mine-contaminated areas in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We have extensive experience in this field. Our non-governmental organizations, as well as our Mine Action Management Centre in Bosnia and Herzegovina, are ready to share this experience with all countries affected by mines,” the head of the Mine Action Centre said.
He emphasized that Azerbaijan has achieved phenomenal results in mine clearance:
“Bosnia and Herzegovina has done a great deal of work in this direction over the past 30 years. We have been in contact with Azerbaijan several times, and our Azerbaijani colleagues have visited our country. On one occasion, a film crew from Azerbaijan even came to Bosnia and Herzegovina and made a film about how we cleared our country of mines and how we achieved success in this process. As for our own experience, we are ready to share it with Azerbaijan. At the same time, we would also like to learn from Azerbaijan’s experience in mine clearance. Because the results Azerbaijan has achieved in this field are truly very impressive.”
