On June 16, the 62nd Session of the UN Subsidiary Bodies on Climate – SB62 – began in the city of Bonn, Germany, APA reports.
The main goal of the Bonn Session is to prepare for COP30, which will be held in Belém, Brazil.
One of the key matters within the framework of the mentioned session was the process of approving the agenda.
This issue, which delayed the work of the conference by two days, was finally resolved thanks to the Azerbaijani delegation’s support for Brazil. Although the agenda was initially expected to be agreed upon by Brazil as the host country of the upcoming COP30, at Brazil’s request, the Azerbaijani delegation held intensive negotiations with all parties, and as a result, the agenda was adopted.
Ana Amelia Campos Toni, the Executive Director of COP30 to be held in Brazil, and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Secretariat expressed their gratitude to Azerbaijan for the support it provided.
