Our main goal in organizing such scientific conferences is to take tackling colonialism to a new level, Abbas Abbasov, executive director of the Baku Initiative Group, told journalists, APA reports.

Today's international conference is especially significant with the participation of experts from the United Nations working on decolonization: "Our main goal is to take the fight against colonialism to a new level. During the international conferences we held at the UN, we discussed the prospects for future cooperation with experts and scientists working there. I think that as the Baku Initiative Group, we will create a network with them in the future and fight against colonialism scientifically."

According to him, thanks to such international measures, the voice of all territories under colonial rule has been brought to the attention of the world community:

"As you know, one of the main current problems was that the problems of peoples suffering from colonialism were neither heard in international organizations nor brought to the attention of the public. The latest statistical indicators give reason to say that the voice of all territories under colonial rule has been brought to the attention of the world community. A number of other countries are now also supporting the fight against colonialism, and some are reacting."
