A bas-relief of Ahmad bey Aghaoghlu and a lecture hall named after him have been unveiled at the Faculty of Law of Ankara University in Türkiye, the Azerbaijan Cultural Center in Türkiye said, APA reports.

The event, organized as part of a project by the Azerbaijan Cultural Center operating under the Azerbaijani Embassy in Türkiye, was attended by Ankara University Vice-Rector Professor Orhan Uzun, Azerbaijan's Deputy Minister of Culture Farid Jafarov, representatives of the Azerbaijani Embassy and TURKSOY, scholars, intellectuals, and other guests.

Speakers at the event highlighted the contributions of Ahmad bey Aghaoghlu, who was born in Shusha, to Azerbaijan's national awakening, the intellectual and cultural life of the Turkic world, as well as education, law, the press, and modernization.

It was noted that Ahmad bey Aghaoghlu, who was one of the founders of the Law School established in Ankara in 1925 and worked there as a teacher, made significant contributions to the development of legal education in Türkiye.

The bas-relief of Ahmad bey Aghaoghlu was unveiled during the event. It was created by Azerbaijani sculptor Alisafa Asgarov at the request of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center.

The Ahmad bey Aghaoghlu lecture hall, renovated as part of a project by the Azerbaijan Cultural Center, was then presented. Special sections have been established in the lecture hall dedicated to Ahmad bey Aghaoghlu's life and activities in Azerbaijan and Türkiye, as well as his academic, legal, literary, and journalistic legacy.
