The majority of the peoples of the member states are unaware of what CICA is, said Mohammad Ashique Rahman, Research Fellow at the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies, during his speech at the 13th meeting of the CICA Think Tank Forum under the session titled “CICA as an International Organization — Transformation and Enhancing Institutional Capacity,” APA reports.
He emphasized that CICA should prioritize people-to-people diplomacy more, attract a greater number of young people, and improve awareness of CICA among the populations of their countries.
Mohammad Ashique Rahman noted that CICA is suffering from a lack of financial resources and called for the establishment of a mechanism to ensure adequate funding.
"CICA must be innovative. We cannot fall behind on global issues. We need to have our own regional security architecture," emphasized Mohammad Ashique Rahman.
