An appointee of the French government in New Caledonia to protect colonial practices and interests in that direction, Abbas Abbasov, executive director of the Baku Initiative Group, said this at the press conference dedicated to the presentation of the "Report on the Violation of Human Rights in France's Overseas Territories", APA reports.
"Baku Initiative Group will continue to support New Caledonia in the fight against colonialism. At the same time, the Baku Initiative Group is calling on different international platforms regarding the events happening in New Caledonia, and this cooperation will continue," he said.
He also underlined that the Baku Initiative Group, with the help of the State Support Agency for NGOs, prepared a report on the violation of human rights, freedom of expression, and environmental damage in the French overseas territories.
He noted that the report provided extensive information about France's human rights violations there and how this country prevented the world community from being informed about these violations.
