The Baku Initiative Group and MIR Guadeloupe have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation as part of the international thematic conference titled "Towards the Decolonization of Guadeloupe! Challenges and Perspectives," dedicated to addressing Guadeloupe’s status under France's colonial policy, APA reports.
The memorandum was signed by Abbas Abbasov, Executive Director of the Baku Initiative Group, and Jose Martin Jean-Pierre, President of MIR Guadeloupe and Secretary of the International Decolonization Front (FID).
The memorandum envisions close cooperation not only in the political sphere among parties, NGOs, and independence movements, but also in the environmental, cultural, and other fields.

"A memorandum will be signed within the framework of cooperation between the Baku Initiative Group and Guadeloupe," Abbas Abbasov, Executive Director of the Baku Initiative Group, told journalists during the international thematic conference held in Baku titled “Towards the Decolonization of Guadeloupe! Challenges and Perspectives,” APA reports.
He also evaluated the prospects of cooperation: "As the Baku Initiative Group, we hold events not only in our capital but also at the headquarters of the United Nations. Reports of these events are submitted to the relevant UN bodies. As a result of these documents, a special declaration is expected to be adopted at the UN in October this year."
