The second meeting of the Ministers of Family and Social Policies of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) has commenced in Baku, APA reports.

During the event titled "Strong Families, Strong Societies: Family Supportive Policies in OTS Countries" held within the framework of the meeting, it was stated that the Organization of Turkic States is an important platform for solving problems faced by families, women, and children and for forming a common resilience.

It was emphasized that Azerbaijan supports projects aimed at solving family and children’s problems in member states, especially in Türkiye.

As part of the event, measures taken by the governments of the participating countries to provide social support to families were discussed.

The necessity of forming a "roadmap" for the protection of family values within the framework of the organization was mentioned.

Deputy Secretary General of the OTS Omer Kojaman stated that activities have been carried out in many areas so far: “In the upcoming period, we will further develop our activities through joint projects. We have implemented various projects within the framework of the organization. Now, we must focus on the family institution. The member countries of the organization have a population of 170 million. At a time when the world is facing various threats, the protection of our moral and family values is extremely important. The establishment of such a platform within the Organization of Turkic States is very important. I believe that within this framework, we will be able to prepare a 'roadmap' for the protection of family values."

Speakers considered the improvement of projects in this direction and their adaptation to current demands as necessary.
