An international conference titled “Neocolonialism and Global Inequality” is being held under the organization of the Baku Initiative Group, APA reports.
For the first time, the conference brings together anthropologists and psychotherapists who work directly on the ground with local populations in colonial territories, experts involved in the creation of the Virtual Museum dedicated to colonialism, leaders of independence movements operating in those territories, as well as researchers specialized in neocolonialism.
Within the framework of the event, discussions will focus on the traumatic and social experiences of peoples subjected to colonialism in various social and cultural contexts, the direct examination of structural problems and ongoing inequalities stemming from the unlawful activities of colonial powers, as well as ensuring access to data for documenting, analyzing, and bringing these experiences to the international arena.
