The second meeting of the Chairmen of the Health Committees of the TURKPA Member Parliaments on the topic "Climate Change and Health: Legislative Responses to the Impact of Climate Change on Health" was held in Baku, APA reports.

Representatives of the legislative bodies of the TURKPA member states participated in the meeting.

Ahliman Amiraslanov, Chairman of the Health Committee of the Milli Majlis, said that adaptation plans should be developed taking into account the risks associated with problems such as climate change and environmental pollution, and the sustainability of medical infrastructure in extreme conditions should be increased.

He added that for this purpose, the level of training of medical workers should be increased, as well as measures such as tightening environmental standards in the field of carbon dioxide reduction should be taken.

Vinera Raimbachayeva, the chairwoman of the Social Policy Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, touched upon another interesting point. The head of the committee said that although more than 40 percent of investments in her country are used for the healthy future of youth and children, this indicator is still not satisfactory.
