A plenary session on the topic of "The role of law enforcement agencies in climate governance" will be held within the framework of the 30th UN Conference of the Parties on Climate Change — COP30, which will be held in Belém, Brazil, APA reports.

A delegation led by the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Kamran Aliyev, visited Brazil to participate in the event.

The Prosecutor General will speak at the plenary session and share his views on the role of law enforcement agencies in climate governance and strengthening international cooperation in this area.

Note that for the first time, within the framework of COP29 held in Baku, at the initiative of the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan, the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan, the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the co-chairmanship of the Ministry of Interior of the United Arab Emirates, a high-level session entitled "Mobilization of law enforcement agencies in the fight against climate change" was organized in the Blue Zone.

The current session held within the framework of COP30 is a logical continuation of that event held in Baku.
