The letter from the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the United Nations addressed to the Secretary-General of the United Nations on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the Khojaly Genocide published as a document of the General Assembly and the Security Council, APA reports citing Azerbaijan's Mission in the UN.
"The overall assessment of the causes and consequences of the aggression and the existing evidence make it absolutely clear that the crimes committed in Khojaly were not isolated or sporadic, but were part of a widespread and systematic policy and practice of atrocities motivated by ethnic and religious hatred and intolerance.
Accountability for serious offences is imperative and must be inevitable.
Azerbaijan will never forget the atrocities committed against its people…," reads the letter.
