"This aid really saves the lives of Ukrainians, supports Ukraine and our economy," said Oleg Klinchenko, Counselor for Economic Affairs of the Embassy of Ukraine in Azerbaijan, APA reports.
The diplomat recalled that the leaders of Ukraine and Azerbaijan recently met at the Davos World Economic Forum.
"Today is a very symbolic day. As it is the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Azerbaijan. It is a very symbolic coincidence that the next part of this humanitarian aid is being implemented precisely these days, and we hope that Azerbaijan's humanitarian assistance to Ukraine will continue," - Oleg Klinchenko emphasized.
Oleg Klinchenko thanked the President of Azerbaijan on behalf of the state and people of Ukraine.
It should be noted that today another batch of humanitarian aid was sent from the Republic of Azerbaijan to Ukraine. For this purpose, in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated February 5, 2025, funds in the manat equivalent of one million US dollars were allocated.
The initial humanitarian aid shipment under this fund includes electrical cables, wires and transformers. According to the request received from Ukraine, the supplies are intended to restore stable electricity supply to war-torn areas.
