Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov has held talks with Yemen’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Shaya Mohsin Zindani on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
According to Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, the meeting focused on the current state of political dialogue between the two countries and ways to intensify diplomatic contacts.
The sides also discussed mutual support within international platforms, highlighting cooperation within the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
They noted that the upcoming summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, to be hosted by Azerbaijan next year, would provide an important platform for expanding cooperation. The significance of the World Urban Forum, scheduled to be held this year, was also underlined as an opportunity to showcase Azerbaijan’s experience in urban development.
Regional security issues were also addressed during the talks. The ministers emphasised the importance of stabilisation and de-escalation around Iran, while also discussing the humanitarian situation in Yemen and efforts aimed at restoring stability in the country.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
