On April 29, 2025, a phone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Minister of State for Europe, North America, and the Overseas Territories of the United Kingdom, Stephen Doughty, MFA told APA.
During the telephone conversation, views were exchanged on issues on the agenda between the two countries, bilateral and regional cooperation issues, as well as regional and international security issues.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed his counterpart about the current situation and realities in the region during the post-conflict period, as well as the threat of landmines.
Minister Bayramov also touched on the normalization agenda with Armenia, discussing the progress made in the negotiations for a peace agreement, which Azerbaijan initiated, and the main obstacles to the successful conclusion of this process. He emphasized that Armenia's abandonment of territorial claims against Azerbaijan in its Constitution and other legal documents is of crucial importance for achieving sustainable peace in the South Caucasus.
During the telephone conversation, views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
