The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Islamic Republic of Iran has resumed its activities today, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The embassy will initially operate with a limited number of diplomatic and administrative staff, including the ambassador.
It was noted that, taking into account security and organizational matters, the embassy’s operations will be regulated in phases.
“The resumption of the activities of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Iran shortly after the cessation of military operations and the declaration of a two-week ceasefire is a clear example of the importance Azerbaijan attaches to its relations with neighboring and friendly Iran.
Our country once again declares its support for initiatives aimed at ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region,” the statement said.
