On September 1–2, 2025, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Fariz Rzayev paid a visit to Slovenia to participate in the 20th Bled Strategic Forum, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.
Within the framework of the forum, the Deputy Minister delivered remarks at panel discussions dedicated to the current international situation.
In his speech, he highlighted the historic agreements reached during the Washington summit on August 8 this year, spoke about the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process and the peace agenda, and emphasized the importance of stability in the region.
He also underlined Azerbaijan’s contribution to the energy security of European countries, drew attention to the large-scale energy and transport projects implemented with Azerbaijan’s participation, and presented information on the country’s crucial role in the establishment and functioning of international transport corridors such as the “Middle Corridor.”
During the discussions, Azerbaijan’s successful hosting and chairmanship of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) was also noted, along with the achievements and decisions made on a number of long-standing issues within COP29.
As part of the visit, a series of bilateral working meetings was also held.
