On December 7–8, 2024, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Fariz Rzayev, was on a visit to the State of Qatar, the Ministry told APA.
On December 7–8, the Deputy Minister participated in the 22nd International Doha Forum held in Qatar. The forum is a global dialogue platform to discuss the important problems our world faces.
As part of the forum, Fariz Rzayev took part in a panel session titled "Central Asia and the New Era of Global Energy Security." In his speech on "Azerbaijan's Foreign Policy," he highlighted the energy and transport projects initiated by Azerbaijan and their contributions to the region's development and security, as well as Azerbaijan's policies on transitioning to green energy, utilizing alternative energy sources, and the efforts undertaken under Azerbaijan's Presidency of COP29.
Additionally, within the scope of the visit, a roundtable on "Azerbaijan's Foreign Policy" was held at the Gulf Studies Center of Qatar University with the participation of Fariz Rzayev. At the event, he answered questions regarding Azerbaijan's foreign policy course, ongoing processes in the region, Azerbaijan's successful Presidency of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), and the decisions adopted within the framework of COP29.
