Azerbaijani, Slovenian FMs hold meeting -UPDATED-1

On April 15, 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Tanja Fajon, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan MFA told APA.

During the tête-à-tête and expanded meetings between the ministers, they discussed the current state and development prospects of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Slovenia, including intensifying political dialogue, increasing high-level contacts, and exploring cooperation opportunities in various fields.

During the meeting, it was noted that Azerbaijan-Slovenia relations are based on friendship, mutual respect, and beneficial cooperation. It was emphasized that the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations will be celebrated in 2026. The importance of political dialogue, high-level visits, inter-parliamentary relations, and economic and humanitarian exchanges in developing bilateral and multilateral cooperation was highlighted.

The meeting also addressed other mutually interesting topics and the prospects for cooperation on international platforms.

Following the meetings, a press conference was held where the ministers made statements and answered questions from media representatives.

An extended meeting is being held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, Tanja Fajon, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a post on social media, APA reports.

The sides discussed cooperation opportunities in energy, digital innovation, environmental sustainability, education, and tourism, and exchanged views on regional security, connectivity, and multilateral coordination.
