Azerbaijani, Russian FMs exchange letters

On the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation, an exchange of letters took place between the foreign ministers of the two countries, APA reports.

April 4 marks the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation.

In this regard, the exchange of congratulatory letters took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov.

In his letter, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan stated that over the past decades, bilateral relations, based on common historical values, mutual respect, and trust, as well as consideration of each other's interests, have successfully developed and evolved from strategic partnership to allied relations.

"Naturally, regular political dialogue at the highest level being a key factor in the progressive development of cooperation has always promoted Azerbaijan-Russia bilateral activities.

The signing of the Declaration on Allied Mutual Activities on February 22, 2022, ensuring the transition of interstate relations to a qualitatively new level created a solid foundation for long-term cooperation in various fields.

Today, the allied mutual activity, characterized by intensive bilateral contacts, continues to strengthen effectively. A vivid example of this is the continuous growth of trade turnover, the expansion of the legislative base, as well as the successful implementation of joint projects and initiatives. Issues related to the expansion of cultural-humanitarian relations and interregional cooperation occupy a special place on the bilateral agenda.

Undoubtedly, close cooperation between foreign policy entities helps strengthen allied mutual activity on a wide range of issues of mutual interest.

I am confident that Azerbaijan-Russia relations will continue to deepen in a comprehensive manner in accordance with the interests of our countries and peoples and will be enriched with new content," said Jeyhun Bayramov in his letter.
