Today, a phone conversation was held between Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, APA reports citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
It was noted that during the phone conversation, the current security situation resulting from the Israel-Iran confrontation, as well as bilateral and regional cooperation issues between Azerbaijan and Russia, were discussed.
The Russian Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani leadership and all relevant authorities for the support provided by Azerbaijan in evacuating Russian citizens from Iran, including artists.
The parties expressed serious concern about the security situation in the region caused by the Israel-Iran confrontation and emphasized the importance of resolving the conflict through diplomatic means.
The ministers also exchanged views on other matters of mutual interest.
