On October 6, Azerbaijan’s Prime Minister Ali Asadov has met with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Vladimir Orlic, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan, the Cabinet of Ministers told APA.
It was noted that Azerbaijan and Serbia have always supported each other’s territorial integrity and sovereignty both on bilateral format and on the framework of the international institutions.
Highlighting the cooperation in the energy field, the importance of opening the Gas Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria (IGB) in Sofia in October of last year was emphasized and it was brought to attention that after the Gas Interconnection Bulgaria-Serbia (IBS) is commissioned, Serbia will also be able to receive the Azerbaijani gas.
The meeting also discussed the prospects of expanding cooperation between the two countries in transport-transit, renewable energy, humanitarian, and many other fields.
