"Tomorrow our people will celebrate Victory Day. 4 years ago, under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, our Army completed its march with Victory," the Speaker of Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament) Sahiba Gafarova said at the plenary session of the Milli Majlis held today, APA reports.
The Speaker of the Parliament said that thanks to the Victory, the 30-year occupation of Azerbaijan's ancestral lands was ended: "This is a historic event not only for us, but for all Turkic states. The greatest dream of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev has come true. A new era has begun in the history of Azerbaijani statehood. With the 1-day anti-terrorist operations carried out in September 2023 to put an end to threats against the Azerbaijani state, the sovereignty of Azerbaijan was ensured in all our territories."
The speaker noted that today, the peace agenda with Armenia is being carried forward step by step through Azerbaijan's efforts: "The Azerbaijani people and our future generations will be proud of this glorious victory. Negotiations with Armenia are ongoing for permanent peace and stability. We do not forget those who died in both the First and Second Garabagh Wars, we always hold their memory high. Today, along with victory on the battlefield, we also celebrate our determination, which has turned us into an iron fist."
