The Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament), Sahiba Gafarova, who is on an official visit to Georgia, met with her Georgian counterpart, Shalva Papuashvili, in Tbilisi, the press service of the Georgian Parliament said, APA's Tbilisi correspondent reports.
It was stated that the importance of the historical friendship and multi-faceted effective cooperation between Georgia and Azerbaijan was emphasized during the meeting.
The relations between the legislative bodies of the two countries, both between the speakers and the committee chairs, were positively evaluated. During the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the parliaments of Georgia and Azerbaijan. The importance of the document for the future development of cooperation was highlighted.
