Azerbaijani parliament hosts meeting with journalists from French colonies

A meeting was held in the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament) with journalists from French colonies, APA reports.

According to the report, the meeting was attended by the leadership of the Baku Initiative Group and members of the Support Group for the People of Corsica established in the Milli Majlis, as well as MPs Tural Ganjaliyev, Javanshir Feyziyev, Shahin Ismayilov, and Azer Karimli.

Javanshir Feyziyev noted that countries like France continue to pursue their colonial policies today, violate the rights of local peoples and exploit their natural resources.

The MP pointed out that within the framework of Azerbaijan's presidency of the Non-Aligned Movement, problems faced by colonial peoples were brought to the agenda.

Gaeze Andre, coordinator of "Radio Djiido" and "Radio Kanaky" from New Caledonia, stated that negotiations are currently ongoing with France regarding the return of certain powers.

Zandronis Danik, a journalist from the CANAL10 TV channel in Guadeloupe, said that France uses military force: "As a media, it is very difficult for us to do our job. When they know that we are going to Azerbaijan, the law enforcement agencies interrogate us and want to know why we are going there. France also maintains dominance in the media field to prevent the correct information from being delivered. However, we strive to bring the truth to light."
