Azerbaijani MFA released information on Jeyhun Bayramov’s press conference in Kahramanmaras

On February 11, 2023, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, visited the city of Kahramanmaras, which was damaged by the earthquake that caused great loss of life and destruction in the Republic of Turkiye, APA reports citing the Azerbaijani MFA.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov was welcomed at the airport by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

During the visit, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov visited the Center of the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority of the Republic of Turkiye (AFAD), the Kahramanmaras Regional Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the base of the rapid response rescue forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (MES) and the area where our rescuers operate, including the field hospital dispatched by Azerbaijan to the earthquake zone, and attended the press conference held with the participation of media representatives.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, who visited the AFAD Center and the Kahramanmarash Regional Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, got acquainted with the large-scale work done by AFAD in the direction of rescuing and evacuating citizens trapped under the rubble of the earthquake area, as well as eliminating the affects of the earthquake. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov addressed the event in which Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Minister of Interior Suleyman Soylu participated, and expressed his condolences to the state and people of Turkiye. Noting that Azerbaijan always stands with brother Turkiye, the minister informed about the support measures implemented by our country since the first day of the disaster, in accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr Ilham Aliyev.

Later, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov visited the base of the MES rapid response rescue forces operating in order to eliminate the affects of the earthquake that occurred in Turkiye, as well as to rescue citizens trapped under the rubble, including the area where they work. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, who got acquainted with the activities of our rescuers, who are constantly conducting search and rescue operations, and the results of their efforts, thanked them for their heroic efforts to save the lives of earthquake victims.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, who visited the field hospital dispatched by Azerbaijan to support the provision of necessary medical services to people injured in the earthquake in Turkey, met with our doctors working in this hospital, which is fully equipped with all the necessary equipment and medicines. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, who got acquainted with the activities of our doctors, expressed his gratitude to them for their efforts in this responsible work.

At last, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, speaking at a press conference attended by media representatives, answered questions about the visit's results, the humanitarian aid provided by Azerbaijan in the direction of eliminating the consequences of the earthquake, including the evacuation of Azerbaijani citizens affected by the earthquake, and our dead citizens.
