According to the information by Azerbaijani Defence Ministry, on the night of May 27-28, our positions near the Ashagi Buzgov settlement in the Babek region of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic came under fire by the Armenian armed forces from several directions. As a result, Azerbaijani serviceman Muradov Elkhan Ilham was wounded, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) told APA.
The provocations committed by the Armenian side along the Armenia-Azerbaijan state border in recent days, including the wounding of an Azerbaijani soldier in the Nakhchivan area of the border, serve to aggravate the situation in the region.
“Namely Armenia bears responsibility for this escalation that happened in the region. We call on Armenia to immediately stop acts of provocation, observe the inviolability of borders and refrain from actions that aggravate the situation in the region,” Azerbaijani MFA noted.
