"In Armenia, more precisely in the border region with Azerbaijan, the continued presence of the European Union's mission engaged in intelligence activities poses serious stability threats to the South Caucasus," said Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov during a press conference within the framework of the XII Global Baku Forum, APA reports.
He mentioned that, amid the agreement on the peace treaty, it is important to eliminate this factor: "In this context, we believe that if we are talking about the establishment of lasting peace in the region, it is crucial to eliminate these factors. There were two clauses left unagreed upon in the draft peace treaty between the two states. One of them was the absence of third-party forces at the border, which Armenia has accepted."
